A large fine paper mill was utilizing a typical low DS, commodity corn starch for ASA emulsification, retention, and strength benefits. Novel worked with the mills technical team and existing suppliers to prove that the existing technology was actually a hindrance on the machines’ wet end chemistry programs. Novel personnel were able to provide an innovative approach that utilize a liquid starch specifically engineered for ASA emulsification.
